Sushi restaurant comes to Smiths Falls
“There is no sushi restaurant in this area,” said the restaurant’s
chef and owner Ryan Chung, who is working alongside his co-owner,
wife, Julie Jang, and son, John Chung, to open the highly
anticipated restaurant.
“Sushi is probably the most popular foreign food,” said Ryan, who
also cooks a wide range of Asian cuisines. “I could do Korean,
Chinese, Japanese sushi, but the most popular is sushi. Canadians
love sushi.”
The globe-trotting family has recently settled in Smiths Falls and
are looking forward to being a staple in the local restaurant
scene.
This is Ryan’s second time owning a restaurant. The first
restaurant he opened was in Los Angeles. The family, who is from
Korea originally, has lived in Beijing, China, then they moved to
Los Angeles, then Chicago, then to the Bracebridge in the Muskoka
region, then Cobourg, and finally Smiths Falls.
